My Behance Story...

If I was asked very randomly to speak of an event that not only inspires young people but also challenges the curious minds of this generations pioneers of borderless creativity, my all time favorite and best bet would  be the Behance Portfolio Reviews.
Che Bar and Grill Abuja was the cozy, fun, yet professional venue of the awe inspired ;) bi-annual event. This innovative brain child of Behance once again, brought a collection of Nigerias most creative minds together to share ideas, inspire in the most uncommon ways and even rant about issues that real creative professionals face everyday! (including the matter of free labour,Yes it was that deep lolz).
From the straight talk on how to sustain a winning brand by Author/Life Coach Somto Mbelu, to the mind blowing creativity secrets revealed by Photographer/Artist Aisha Augie- Kuta it became obvious that choosing not to be a part of the movement to change the world through Art, is definitely an idea to be reconsidered. Beyond this beauty of individual uniqueness lay a thousand stories of greatness being told and just waiting to be heard all over the world! It was right there in the eyes of a bird photographer who would sit out in the sun waiting patiently for the right shot, it was so clear in the warm countenance of the enthusiastic brand ambassador whose smile matched the name of the WiFi we had access to at the event!, it was there at the finger tips of the make up artist with a tiny voice and a huge imagination splashing colors on the monochrome mentality that only whispers impossibility, it was tangible in the composure of the oil painter who sat in the crowd as his exhibition did the talking, it could be seen in the confidence of the photographer with a keen eye for detail as a seemingly amazing picture was contoured and retouched to make a master piece... graphic designers virtually sketching works of art in minutes proving that eternity lies within and the power to be is at our beck and call. So right there I sat and listened to a wise man say 'There is nothing you cannot do, your only limitation is your mind' and my heart burst into applause because I couldn't agree more. We are the Playful generation, we would freeze moments hashtag and abbreviate the norm because this is who we are.The Behance Portfolio Reviews Event stands as a medium that removes the fears of the artists who do not see their work as anything good enough to share with others, being in that atmosphere inspired us to really understand that the whole point of finding your gift is to give it away in the most exciting way.
#MyGeneration has been able to enhance methods, break stereotypes, dream and literally imagine the much talked about future into existence today and now! So one may ask: How did an event which was primarily set up for a community of creative professionals inspire a writer/farmer? well it's simple. As long as my hands remain green and a tended seed put in the ground can spring up into new life then the least attention paid to the slightest detail can make all the difference.

Mind bugging dear. Thats a great piece. It's magical how u could create a story out of what most attendees would see as mere exhibition. I love your creative mind, reasoning andyour power of imagination.

Hahaa, what was most notable was the last hashtag "#Etre" really? :)
And I totally agree with Adeleke Jowinson about your creative ability to make something from nothing, I mean that's the very heart of creativity and God decided to show us the way with what He did with the universe. #CreatedForCreativity #BornToGiveLife #LifeIsTheOnlyRequirementForArt #TimWinChrist #TooManyHashtags #WellitsTheWritersFault #OkBye :D

Lol! It's funny how I marked this date in my calender n then was out of town when it arrived. Happy to hear it was great, I believe that no matter how high up you are as a creative, there's a constant need for encouragement and the knowledge that you're not in it alone and it looks like behance fostered that. Siona you know na, your writing is always gold ; ) already made me make up my mind to be at the next one whenever it comes around
