THE WORD WORKS (Short Story)

There was this elderly lady who lived in a little town. She was very poor.
In fact she lived in an old little house on the street,just beside d local church.
Not very far from the church however was a mini mart and the owner of the store was known for his mean acts towards people especially the beggars on the street.

The woman poor and smelly never cared about what the people in the church thought of her when she walked in every sunday and sat at the back pew to listen to the sermon. Her name was Miss Anne and she believed that she could at least get out of the sun for a while whenever she was in the church... Miss Anne had not eaten in a while and she was really tired and weak.
One sunday morning, miss anne quietly got up and walked slowly to the church... That morning, the pastor preached on Faith. Miss Anne was so curios as to find out how faith so little could move so big a mountain. So after church that day she decided to test this faith. She walked slowly to the mini mart and as she expected the grumpy owner was siting at the counter.
"What do you want here poor old miss anne? I know you have no money" He said. Miss Anne explained that she had not eaten and she was wondering if he could give her something to eat.
He laughed and said "ok I will make you a deal...
""Take this piece of paper and a pen, write down exactly what you want me to give you, when u finish, put the paper on the scale, I will put food items on the scale... If the paper weighs more than the food items then you can have the food on the scale."". This sounded so unfair but miss anne did it anyway... After writing, she folded the paper into two and placed it on the scale. The shop owner was very excited he began putting food. Items on the scale. Bread, eggs, ham, rice, fish,potatoes, he was shocked to realise that the paper was heavier than every single item he put on the scale. Just when he was almost running out of items in his shop he had enough. He packed the food and gave to the very happy miss anne who went home overjoyed.
The shop owner sat in his half empty store and decided to open the paper and read its content. He wanted to know what she wrote!
To his surprise it was a bible verse:
Matthew 6:11 :"Give us this day our daily bread"
