WHY DOES GOD LEAVE US TO SUFFER??? (SHORT STORY)

A troubled lieutenant once asked a chamberlain an important question

'I don't understand this omnipotent benevolent thing '' 

it troubled him so much because if God was actually all powerfull and well meaning,people would not be suffering and the world would be a better place ,he would also change our situation in the twinkle of an eye and take away  our pain but why wasn't it so???
 

 the chamberlain answered him:

''do you have a child lieutenant?''

the Lieutenant flushed ''no signore'' he answered

Chamberlain: ''imagine you had an eight year old son..........would you love him?''

lieutenant: ''yes of course!!!''

Chamberlain: ''would you let him scate board?''

lieutenant: ''yeah, i guess, sure id let him skate board but id tell him to be care full''

Chamberlain:''so as this child's father you would give him some basic good advise and then let him go off and make his own mistakes?''

lieutenant:'' i wouldn't run behind him and mollycoddle him if that's what you mean..''

Chamberlain: ''but what if he fell and skinned his knee?''

Lieutenant: ''he would learn to be more careful''

the Chamberlain smiled:
''so although you have the power to interfere  and prevent your child's pain, you would choose to show your love by letting him learn his own lessons?''

Lieutenant:'' of course pain is part of growing up. its how we learn''

the Chamberlain nodded now satisfied:
''exactly''.
